IT Network Systems Engineer:

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential:
• Administering Microsoft servers running: Windows Server 2000/2003, SQL Server 2005, and Exchange Server 2000/2003/2007
• Server software & hardware troubleshooting
• Workstation software & hardware troubleshooting

• Backup administration using BackupExec

• Experience supporting local & remote users.
• Continuous self study to keep up with the constantly changing technology sector

Optional:
• Administer Linux servers running: Apache, Sendmail, Samba, BIND, MySQL, Asterisk
• Network infrastructure administration: (Cisco routers, firewalls, switches, and VPN concentrators)
• Administer Telecommunications and Computer Telephony equipment (i.e. Voice T1’s and Channel Banks)

• Programming (VB.net, ASP.net, PHP)

Experience and Skills:

Essential:
• Computer networking knowledge and experience in computer network architecture and implementation including network operating systems (NOS), network design, and directory services
• Network Infrastructure knowledge and experience in LAN/WAN infrastructure technologies and implementation strategies
• Microsoft Windows experience including system design, implementation, and management
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Able to relay technical information to both technical and non technical personnel
• Exceptional problem solving and organizational skills
• Must possess excellent time management skills

Optional:
• Certifications – MCSE, CCNA, CCNP, RHCE
• Linux Administration experience with CentOS Linux
• Experience in Computer Telephony or Telephony systems using Voice T1’s and Channel Banks

Work Environment:

GrowDirect runs and incorporates both Microsoft and Linux platforms, and uses these platforms to deploy a custom built ERP system that is fully integrated with its customer support call center. The seed industry is rapidly evolving as it relates to technologies in and on seed. As the industry changes, GrowDirect, d.b.a. Fielder’s Choice Direct & Heartland Hybrids, strives to keep its IT systems on the cutting edge of technology.

The individual will work at our corporate office in Monticello, Indiana, which is a community with two large man-made lakes. Monticello is a 30 minute drive from Lafayette / West Lafayette, Indiana and Purdue University. GrowDirect also has facilities in Minnesota and Illinois, which will be serviced by this position as well.
